About Halden

Halden is a purchase desk for offices that still send orders as documents. It is free, it runs in the browser, and it does not ask for an account.

The name is a desk, not a marketplace. You write the order, number it, print it, and keep a ledger of what you filed. Vendors live in a small book on the same computer. Nothing in that book is uploaded to run the page.

It is aimed at office managers, operations coordinators, and bookkeepers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada who buy supplies and services by email. Advertisers in accounting and business software pay more to be seen by that person than by a general audience, which is why a quiet tool like this can carry display ads without pretending to be a bank.

Halden is not a law firm, not an accounting firm, and not a tax adviser. The guides are practical explanations of ordinary commercial documents. Rules for VAT, GST, sales tax, and what your contract requires can differ from the examples. Check anything that moves money with someone who is allowed to advise you.

There is no approval workflow, no inventory, and no bank connection. Those are real products when you need them. This one stops at the document, because the document is the part a static site can do honestly.

The advertising spaces on each page are empty until ad code is added. They are marked as advertisements so they are not mistaken for the tool. See the privacy policy for what stays on your computer, or send a note.

Questions

Who is Halden for?

Office managers, operations coordinators, bookkeepers, and owners at small firms who still send purchase orders by email. If you already live in an ERP, you do not need this desk.

Why is there no login?

A login would mean a server copy of your vendors and prices. Halden keeps that on your computer so the site can stay static and you are not trusting a new account with your supplier list.
